Tropical Storm Edouard.
Coincidence or God incidence?

Tropical storm Edouard Formed in the Gulf of Mexico on the afternoon of August 3, 2008  (8/3/08) and began a path headed directly towards Houston.  Two (2) days later it reached landfall on Tuesday morning and was in the city of Houston by that afternoon (8/5/08).  It had sustained winds of about 65 miles per  hour, but without any tornadoes, so it was not intense enough to cause destruction, but it was large enough to get everyone's attention.  Normally the east side (dirty side) of a hurricane is the side that gets all the rainfall, but most of the rainfall from this storm occurred on the "clean" (west) side.  The storm passed just east of Houston with most of the rain falling over the city. The storm also brought much needed rain for many areas of Texas that were experiencing severe drought.

• Edouard is a variant of Edward, from the old English Eadweard meaning "wealthy guardian."
• Doug Cook's middle name is Edward, the founder of this assembly and God assigned calling of watchman on the wall (guardian) for the city of Houston, bringing a desire to impart a "wealth" of true biblical revelation to believers in our City.
• Edouard was birthed on the exact day as the Church of Houston.  That day was 8/3/08. Eight, the biblical number of new beginnings combined with three, the biblical number of completion or perfection.  The beginnings of a church patterned after the perfect example of the first century church.
• From it's inception, Edouard's main focus was the City of Houston and it never veered from that path, as will be the focus of the Church of Houston.
• I took 2 "days" for the storm to reach Houston.  Daniel refers to the 7 "days" of tribulation, with each day representing a year.  Since the tribulation could begin any moment, in  2 years (days) the Church of Houston will take Houston by "storm,"  bringing much needed "living waters" to a City that is experiencing severe drought of the washing and cleansing only the true Word can bring.  Time is of the essence and God is going to do a mighty work quickly.
• The biblical number 2 signifies witnesses or opposition; dividing light from darkness.  Two witnesses are used in the book of revelation to convey Gods judgment.  One of the Church of Houston's main focuses is to bring "witness" to Gods judgment that is upon us and draw attention to the fact it "must begin at the House of God."  There will be much "opposition," mostly coming from Christians as God begins the "dividing" of the sheep from the goats.
• The storm hit Houston on 8/5/08.  Along with the "new beginnings," Five is included which is the biblical number of grace.  Gods grace is unmistakable in that the "storm" did not bring destruction, but it did get everyone's attention. Unfortunately, as will happen in the physical aftermath of Edouard, complacency will set in after the "spiritual storm" has passed and most of the "Christians" will not repent during Gods grace, but will face His judgment when the coming tidal wave completely destroys the Gulf coast, including this city.
