Contributions To TheChurch of HoustonAny offerings of any size are gratefully appreciated. Each new covenant believer should give accordingly as God has made provision for them. We should seek the Lord for guidance and give as the Holy Spirit directs each of us individually. We DO NOT believe in "tithing to the local storehouse" as it is a misrepresented Old Covenant legalistic form of giving. Please read our "Tithing" article that addresses this very important topic that has been erroneously taught for decades by pastors. (Click on "Tithing, Tithe" button on the left) The Church of Houston is a debt-free ministry who trusts completely on the Lordship of Jesus Christ and will continuously operate that way. We believe being out from under the bondage of indebtedness is God's will for His church and His children so we can be good stewards of the resources entrusted to each one of us. As a Lordship church, we believe God is sovereign over everything, including finances which must be available to use as the Lord leads only. Obtaining an "incorporated church" status with a 501(c)(3) exemption allows Caesar to put limits on finances and some forms of speech from the pulpit. We need to render unto Caesar what is Caesars, yet not allow Gods money to be restricted or biblical truths to be silenced so we will not incorporate, file for tax exemption or be yoked with any unbelievers, magistrates, banks or otherwise. Therefore, any gifts or contributions to Church of Houston are NOT tax exempt and, because we are not unequally yoked with the banking system, we are unable to accept checks or charge cards as donations. It's not a good idea to send cash through the mail, so the best way to donate through the postal system is by postal money order made out to Douglas Cook. If you would like the donation to be used for a specific ministry, please include a note to advise us of your intentions. May God bless you for your consideration.
